Spares reach vessels in Greece by air through Athens International Airport or by road from European suppliers. As your agents, we handle the full process from arrival to delivery on board, across Piraeus and all Greek ports in our network.

Customs Clearance

We manage customs clearance for all incoming consignments, coordinating directly with brokers and freight forwarders to ensure fast processing and correct duty treatment. To avoid delays, we work best when we receive the shipping documents, invoice, and packing list ahead of the consignment's arrival. This allows us to pre-stage the clearance and move the package through customs on the same day it lands.

Transport and Storage

Once cleared, we arrange transport from the airport or point of entry to the port. For consignments arriving by truck from Europe, we coordinate the routing and port gate access.

When timing does not align with the vessel's schedule, we work with local warehouse facilities for temporary storage, keeping spares secure until the vessel is ready to receive. This is common for pre-dry dock consolidation, where multiple shipments need to arrive over several days before being delivered together.

Delivery on Board

For vessels alongside, spares are delivered quayside and transferred on board using the vessel's own gear. When pieces are too heavy or oversized, we arrange shore cranes through the port authority or terminal operator, confirm capacity and rigging, and coordinate the lift window with the vessel's operations.

For vessels at anchorage, we arrange delivery by launch boat. Spares, stores, provisions, and crew are combined into a single run where possible, keeping costs down and minimising disruption. Launch boat scheduling depends on weather and sea conditions in the anchorage area; we monitor conditions and coordinate timing with the master.

Spares Landing Ashore

The process also works in reverse. When spares or equipment need to come off the vessel for repair, return to supplier, or forwarding to another port, we handle the landing ashore, customs export formalities, temporary storage, and onward dispatch by air or road. We coordinate the full chain so the owner or manager has a single point of contact for the entire operation.
