Perama has been steadily modernised. Since 2016 the Piraeus Port Authority has invested tens of millions of euros in the zone. Two new quayside shipbuilding cranes of 40 tons each arrived in 2024, adding fixed quayside lifting for the first time, and Floating Dock Piraeus II returned to service in 2025 with a fresh five-year class certificate. The result is more capacity, safer operations, and faster turnarounds.
